A Clinical Effect of Droxicam for the Treatment of Patient with Osteoarthritis

Abstract
|
|
|
Droxicam is a new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), beloging to the oxicam group of compounds.
Droxicam is totally converted in the intestine to the active form, piroxicma by hydrolysis. The same efficacy as proxicam and a greatly improved gastrointestinal tolerance has been shown in early clinical trials. The have been performed in 43
patient
with osteoarthritis, from July, 1992, to December 1992, to evaluate the efficacy and the tolerance of droxicam and the drug is well-toterated after six weeks medication.
In conclusion, oral droxicam is a benefit in reducing pain and impreoved joint motion and function in patients with osteoarthritis of the hip and knee.
